TORONTO, ON – June 6, 2017 –  Benjamin Booker has confirmed a run of headline North American tour dates behind his new album Witness out now via ATO Records. The tour includes two Canadian stops in Toronto and Vancouver. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, June 9th at 10am local time. Full itinerary below, more info here: http://www.benjaminbookermusic.com/tour.html

Witness is Booker’s most powerful artistic statement to date and has been met with some of the best press of Booker’s career, earning praise from Rolling Stone (“gritty, genre-bending”), Time (“soulful”), FADER (“packs a punch”), NPR Music (“heart-racing”) + more. Entertainment Weekly described it as “Otis Redding covering Ty Segall in an abandoned warehouse.”  Earlier this Spring NPR Music shared the title track (featuring Mavis Staples), paired with a powerful personal statement from Booker detailing the album’s origins in Mexico City: http://n.pr/2niD3br

More praise for Witness:

“Soulful….’Witness’ reveals an artist expanding his worldview” –Esquire

“An urgent synthesis of blues, gospel and soul….[Booker] hones his approach with a raw and unforgiving candor that’s reminiscent of downtown New York punk.” –Mic.com

“Energizing and chilling” –Chicago Tribune

“Defiant, insightful and both intimately and communally self-actualizing….a soulful, fearless record.” –Paste

“Booker punctuates soul, R&B and blues with his garage-punk roots, creating a protest album that can’t be categorized.” – CBC Music First Play

“Vintage soul-rock, gospel and blues that have underpinned his work from the start, folding R&B string arrangements and gospel piano into his guitar’s gritty rampage.”
