POETRY IN MOTION OUT NOW ON

ATO RECORDS

TORONTO, ON – February 2, 2018 – Multiple Grammy-nominated reggae octet SOJA is embracing 2018 with gratitude and positivity. On the heels of the fall release of Poetry in Motion on ATO and a world engulfed in conflict and turmoil, the band’s belief is that music should speak for people and uplift them; always asking why it feels like something is wrong when everything is so beautiful.

This outlook is punctuated with the release of the new video for “Tried My Best”, directed by Daniel Ferro & Marvin Campos. Filmed on tour in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru, the clip documents the arduous aspects of road life, sleeping on airport floors, long journeys and endless movement, all forgotten once on stage performing for thousands of joyous faces.

Poetry In Motion has been praised by USA Today, Billboard, Paste and more and debuted at #1 on the Billboard reggae charts week of release (their fourth #1 debut to date!). Recorded at Dave Matthews Band’s studio in Charlottesville, VA, near where the band first got their start two decades ago, the new music digs deeper than ever into their message of finding peace – tackling everything from government corruption, immigrants, marriage, veteran’s rights and beyond.

SOJA’s energetic, impassioned live performances offer people a chance to look both inward and outward, and feel part of a global community, particularly since SOJA has headlined shows in over 30 countries. The band just completed a tour of Brazil and returns to Canada with stops in Montreal on March 8 at Club Soda and March 9 in Toronto at The Mod Club. SOJA will be hitting plenty of festivals this summer including BottleRock, Summer Camp, SweetWater and more.
