Drinking whiskey from a can in a night club parking lot. A house party that saw the sun rise. An unexpected trip to LA. Bands’ beginnings have been had in no stranger way. For Winnipeg’s The Treble, road trips and late night parties led to cross-Canada tours and arena shows proving the point that sometimes no plan is the best plan. The group is ready to break ground in a major way teaming up with award winning producer Rob Wells (Ariana Grande, Tyler Shaw, Justin Bieber) for their brand new single, Wherever You Go. The 5-piece band connected with Pixelstick users from around the globe for the single’s stunning lyric video. Exclaim.ca premiered the video yesterday.
With a dark and confident alt-pop sound, The Treble mix strong melodies and anthemic harmonies with lyrics about friendship, travel and staving off the real world. “For us, this song is a bit of a story about the journey we’ve all been on for the past few years. For some people challenging yourself means to travel the world or learn new things and for others it just means getting out of bed in the morning. Wherever You Go is about the first and final steps that can change everything” says lead singer, Mark Brusegard. The new single is from The Treble’s soon to be announced debut release with Cadence Music, and you can listen here.
The concept for the video came about when Patrick Hansen, the band’s bass player, reached out to a community of Pixelstick users across the Globe early last year. “I sort of approached them out of the blue with this idea to create a really cool lyric video using their pixelsticks. I didn’t know what the response would be, but it was overwhelming. I had over 30 people contribute shots around the globe, from New Zealand, France, Scotland, Brazil, Germany, the US, England, Australia, Scotland and of course Canada. It was AMAZING to see this community all come together to help us make a super unique video for Wherever You Go.”
Having shared the stage with groups like Capital Cities, Dear Rouge, Hedley, The Lumineers, Francesco Yates, The Trews, and Down With Webster, The Treble have seen their audience and sound experience steady growth since forming in 2011.
